Being told amazing stories, surrounding myself with brands that give me something or (and why not?) simply entertain me. I like creating new stories, to help brands feel like they’re in their element. I like remembering the good old stories, because there’s a reason they’re the ‘good old’ ones. Yes, I like that.
Insistent advertising. Repeat it all you want, I’m not going to buy it. Do you think I’ll just fall into your arms from exhaustion? If you’re going to interrupt me, at least tell me something important. Do the terms seduction, persuasion and enchantment ring a bell? You’d better learn them if you want to make a living out of this ‘Art of advertising’ business.
Keeping it simple. If you want to win me over, do it quickly and without fuss – and all the better if you do it with a smile. There’s sure to be a connection. I like to rack my brains until I find the best idea. What a coincidence! It’s certainly the simplest, but never the first. These are the things that make me feel at ease.
Excess. If something isn’t helping, it’s hindering. If something doesn’t fit… get rid of it! I don’t like simple things being made complicated. ‘There’s no such word as can’t’. Empty words, hollow phrases, decoration without rhyme or reason… I don’t like it one bit! Less is more, and more is always more.
People who join in. I like to take part in projects where everyone has something to say and a lot to gain. Why would I go it alone, when together we can get further? That’s my philosophy. I like collaborating, cooperating, sharing, scheming… I like them a lot.
Being ignored. I’m not into authoritarian speeches; when they’re one-sided, they’re dull. I want conversations, dialogues, chats. I don’t like being manipulated, or brainwashed. No! It’ll be tricky for us to make something together with just your opinion… If you’ve got it all figured out, what do you need me for? No two ways about it; communication is how people and brands can get on.
Risk. I like innovative, enterprising people. I like to ask questions, fight for what I believe in. I’m curious. I like learning from mistakes. Things don’t always work out the way you want them to. One thing is true: if you make a mistake, it’s better if it’s quick and cheap. It’s always worth it.
Feeling like I’m on another planet. A lot of people have the strange knack of making you feel like a Martian, as if you’re the only person in the world who thinks differently. I don’t like being made to follow the crowd. Do you think we’ll get far like that?
Recycling and feeling like every material gets another chance. I like my planet. I’m convinced that we can all do our bit to maintain our natural treasure. And, although a lot of people might not believe it, I like to get my hands dirty in the earth.
Grey people. Why insist on seeing everything in black and white when you have thousands of colours to choose from? I don’t like living my life constantly looking backwards. Look! The path is always in front of you! I don’t like turning my back on my intuition. Reason is important, but the heart is amazing. Pay attention to it and put some colour into your life – you can’t go wrong.
