As is tradition every Christmas, Dabiz Muñoz launches his unique take on the typical Roscón de Reyes cake. And for the fifth year in a row, the chef has put his trust in Supperstudio to create the concept, design, and packaging. According to the brief, “the idea had to be innovative, disruptive, and make your head blow up. We wanted to continue with the idea of flying pigs, which in the XO universe represent creativity, freedom, and experimentation with the most daring flavors.”
For each creation, Dabiz pushes flavors to the limit by combining cooking styles from around the world. This year, the design takes a step forward by creating, bringing to life, and animating two flying pigs that represent the chef’s flavor, idea, and inspiration when creating the roscones. This is the first year that augmented reality has been incorporated to see the creativity and the pigs in action.
‘Pinky Fantasía’ is cheerful, creative, sparkling, and fresh. She is a self-confident classical ballet dancer without complexes. She is strawberry, raspberry, popping candy, and lemon whipped cream.
‘La Merienda’ is a trip back to our childhood. It is the child we all were, coming home from school, putting down our backpacks and running to have that glass of milk with cookies. It is sweet, caramel, wafer, chocolate, and a touch of ginger.
The style of the illustrations and the use of artificial intelligence as a tool have given this year’s project a new and unexpected dimension.
