Amor de Bellota

Iberian love

The Raza Nostra Group, made up of brands specialising in selection and selling of local meats, artisan cheeses and cachopos, wants to create an Iberian products shop as part of its expansion strategy, combining personalised service behind the counter with self-service. The aim is to create a brand that stands out from other Iberian brands in a generally flat market. A play on words and an “old school” aesthetic from the world of tattoos inspired our proposal for the naming, visual identity and packaging of Amor de Bellota.

Amor de Bellota’s storytelling connects with imagery and aesthetics that are recognisable to consumers. The lettering, symbol and colour are the three elements that articulate the proposal. For the lettering, we chose a typeface that uses the characteristic contractions of medieval writing to connect with tradition. As a symbol, we revisited the famous tattoo of a heart pierced by a dagger, transforming it into an acorn. And the choice of an unexpected colour palette, with a bold blue as the protagonist, helps us to build a powerful identity in which we forget the prevailing visual codes in the category. In this way, we define a powerful “stand out” that takes a leap in a very classic, traditional and homogeneous category.

In addition to the usual supports, such as bags and wrapping paper, one of the most important pieces in the development of the project is the special box with the assortment of Iberian products, which incorporates a carrying handle system that gives it stability and facilitates transport.

Amor de Bellota’s packaging has achieved greater dynamism in unassisted sales and has transformed the shelf, resulting in increased sales and greater product turnover.
